Christopher has lived in the Hatchet Lake area with his wife for the past five years, where they are now raising their young daughter.

He recently retired from the Royal Canadian Navy after 11 years of submarine service as a Marine Technician. He remains an active member of the Submarine Association of Canada.

A Red Seal Industrial Electrician, Christopher currently works with the Department of National Defence as a Technical Inspector. Christopher has a strong interest in innovation, youth initiatives, and community outreach.

In his spare time, he enjoys woodworking, photography, and videography, and is passionate about encouraging hands-on learning and creativity in the community.

He sees the ROC as an important community asset and welcomes the opportunity to support its continued growth and positive impact in the area.

David has been a member of the Prospect Road community since 2018.

He lives here with his wife and two young children. Hailing from Ontario, but bound by marriage and mortgage to a Cape Bretoner, he continues to establish roots along many avenues across the HRM.

These areas include Prospect Road Elementary School where his children attend, Saint Mary’s University where he works as an adjunct professor of Economics, Halifax West High School where his wife teaches science, Department of Fisheries and Oceans where he works in Policy and Economics, and the litany of activities his children are involved in. With a background in finance, education, and government, David continues to focus on ensuring sustained resources of the community foster growth and opportunity for future generations.

Tyson is a financial advisor who has worked in his family’s business for more than 20 years. He graduated from Mount Saint Vincent University in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and is working toward his certified financial planner certification. He and his wife have lived in Brookside for more than 10 years and couldn’t be happier raising their son and daughter there. Active in the community, he is a volunteer coach for his son’s hockey and baseball teams. As a board member, Tyson looks forward to being a voice for the kids and a positive force for change in the community. When he’s not working or volunteering, you’ll find Tyson gardening, hiking, or fishing.

Kyle, moved to Brookside with his wife and daughter three years ago, to be closer to family.

Raised in close knit rural communities in Manitoba and Ontario, Kyle looks forward to the opportunity to serve the community, and contribute in shaping its future, particularly as a vibrant and positive place for youth. He has worked as a biologist in the public sector for the last 15 years, researching coastal marine ecosystems in Newfoundland and Nova Scotia, and more recently, evaluating and communicating scientific information in response to and in preparation for marine pollution events.

Through his work, Kyle has gained experience in public communications, finance management, leadership development, conflict resolution, emergency management and preparedness, and environmental conservation. In his spare time, Kyle enjoys exploring the outdoors, coaching, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.

I have lived in the Prospect Road area for 40 years and in the McDonald Lake subdivision for 30 years. I am a professional engineer and have worked both as a designer and project manager on several sport and community centres upgrades in the HRM including the Canada Games Centre, the Captain William Spry Centre and the Dartmouth Sportsplex.

I served on the Board of Directors for a private engineering consulting firm and was involved in the business operating parameters, expansion plans, and financial decisions. I am now retired and would like to offer my experience in project management , technical expertise, and familiarity with board operations as an asset to the Board of the ROC. I am a regular user of the community centre facilities as an avid pickleball player but also attend most of the community centre special events when I can.

I consider the Community Centre a real asset and would like to help in ensuring it is even more fully utilized and appreciated by the citizens in the area.

Kristy is inspired by the opportunity to help build a stronger sense of community in the Prospect area for local families and future generations. As a resident of the area with her husband and children, she is passionate about supporting initiatives that bring people together, strengthen connections, and help create a vibrant, welcoming place to live.

Professionally, Kristy is the Funding and Compliance Manager at the Housing Trust of Nova Scotia, bringing leadership experience in governance, strategic planning, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.

Her work has focused on strengthening organizational accountability, building strategic partnerships, and supporting long-term community impact. Kristy is excited to support the ROC’s mission to enhance local programming, strengthen community connections, and help the area continue to grow as a thriving place for residents and families.
