Higbee’s Berry Farm and Nursery is Glenn and Cindy Higbee who operate out of New Ross. They grow strawberries, blueberries, sweet potatoes, and haskap berries. They have corn and onions and other crops too. Cindy makes awesome fudge! Due to the poor weather & growing conditions this spring, Higbee’s crops are approximately 2 weeks behind. They hope to join us on June 16th, or June 30th – stay tuned for additional updates.

Edible Earth is a farm, local to the Prospect Communities using organic, bio-intensive methods. The current focus is on salad and quick crops. Long term goals are mixed nut, fruit, berry, bacon and eggs.
Tucked in the heartland of the Annapolis Valley’s farming belt, TapRoot Farms merges deeply-held family farming traditions with the most established organic heritage in Nova Scotia. The land on which TapRoot Farms operates is in Mi’kma’ki, the unceded traditional ancestral territory of the Mi’kmaq people.
Since purchasing the organic farm in 2007, Patricia Bishop and Josh Oulton have been steadily increasing the number of acres in transition to organic and today, TapRoot Farms is 70% organic or in transition to organic, with the goal of becoming fully organic by 2020.
Josh and Patricia instill the virtues of environmental responsibility in their three children–Izaak, Lily, and Frank–while involving them in all aspects of the farming operation. The family grows delicious veggies and fruit, raise free-range hens for eggs, and pastured animals for meat.

Serving Halifax and the surrounding areas, Crissy’s Oven provides fresh, quality breads and sweets. We have a passion for baking and a heart for serving others.
Though Crissy’s Oven is just beginning, owner/baker Cristal Boudreau has had a love of baking for over 25 years. She can still remember the first time she made bread with her grandmother, who slipped a pair of clean pants on Cristal’s head to make sure her hair didn’t get into the dough. Her Nanny would tell her, “Crissy, if you have a roof over your head, and food in your belly, you’re doing alright”. Cristal took that lesson one step further, believing that you should also help those who don’t.

Black Harbour Distillers, “BHD”, was established in 2018, by founder Jamie Landry. As a 1st year Dalhousie Commerce Student she wanted to pursue her dreams and talk of creating a company that works closely with the community and that would offer locally crafted, blended spirits. Jamie with bring fine blended, distilled spirits to the Prospect Communities & has goals of adding ready to drink cocktails in the future.

You can’t have a farmers’ market in Nova Scotia without oatcakes! Genuine Oatcakes are authentic Nova Scotian oatcakes which means they need to start with the finest ingredients; all sourced locally (even sweetened with NS honey & certified organic maple syrup). Lori’s products are blended locally, contain No added MSG, are dairy-free, nut-free, gluten-free, soy-free & they leave out the fillers & artificial flavors.

At 7th Chakra Designs, Patti is a fibre artist who does mindful and useful accessories for the yogi in you. Bolsters, pillows, and yoga bags are a specialty. Watch for her launch of new market bags as well. Sure to be richly quilted and of sturdy construction.
Laura creates intentional jewelry; simple pieces with empowering statements. Mala necklaces, Mala bracelets & stainless steel wire wrapped raw crystals. You’ll also find a few woodworking items such as blanket ladders!
